Te’ora by Sharon Diotte

Last year, I went to a writing workshop in Chelsea, MI. By the time I’d left, I met some wonderful women, one of whom wanted some help with editing her memoir. Reading Sharon Diotte’s account of surviving abuse and violence in her life was a great honor for me. Sharon encourages her readers with this tale to find power and light in the things that have darkened your life, so you may grow like a lotus in a murky swamp. Her vulnerability, emotion, and beautiful writing inspired me to reflect on my own healing journey.

Her memoir, Te’ora: From Vulnerability and Wounding to Wisdom and Healing, is now available on Amazon, and I would love for you to take a look! Working with Sharon rewarded and inspired me on a deep level. The collaboration and trust that can be found when editing someone’s work fulfills something in me, especially when working on something as emotionally substantial as this work.

All of us have important stories to share. Women, especially, are so used to repressing our own emotions and narratives. It’s time for us to step forward and reclaim our voices. By the end of Te’ora, you’ll feel empowered, hopeful, and emotional as you find a path forward for your own healing.*

*TW (trigger warning): this memoir is for readers 18+ and contains descriptions of physical and sexual violence. Please read the epilogues for healing advice, and seek help if you’ve experienced sexual violence.
