This spring, I was happy to assist the Manchester Area Historical Society in creating a slideshow for their presentation of “Deconstructing the Past.” Working with Sybil Kolon, the owner of this historic property, I got to hear the story of her family’s land, which has now become the Iron Creek Nature Preserve. I also assisted with some of the technical aspects of the night of the presentation so Sybil could focus on speaking and directing this presentation!
Explore the Manchester Area Historical Society’s website and consider becoming a member if you live around here! And check out the “Deconstructing the Past” page to learn more about the fascinating and important work behind this project. I’m so glad I got to have a small part in telling the story of this land near where I grew up. Efforts like these to preserve not only physical land but invaluable histories can help us build a better future!
